Length: 3338 words, short story

I read this as part of my reading challenge: 25 short stories in 25 days.

I know lots of people love magical realism, but it just isn’t my thing. Spooky stories where the superstition might and might not be real, it just don’t do it for me. Decide one way or the other author, please. It might just be, that I am pretty darn sure that non of it is real in our world. I’m not religious, I don’t knock on wood and I have never seen or heard anything like a ghost, so it just don’t interest me. I do however love stories where the magic is undoubtedly real, where the Fay are hiding among us, where wizard children gets letter on their eleventh birthday etc. But I don’t like the stories where there might possibly be something.

As you might have guessed this ids one of theses. I like the voice in the story and the mood as well, but the story itself did nothing for me.
