I don’t read novellas in one sitting, especially not 150 pages novellas – well apparently unless they are All Systems Red. The book was fast paced and funny. I have already pre-ordered the next one and am very much looking forward to May.

Opening sentence :

I could have become a mass murderer after I hacked my governor module, but then I realized I could access the combined feed of entertainment channels carried on the company satellites.

Stories by T. Kingfisher

22877105Today and yesterday I read no less than three stories by T. Kingfisher aka Ursula Vernon who wrote Jackalope Wives. I started by reading The Dryad’s Shoe in Women Destroy Fantasy and loved it. I of course had to search out other works by her and it turned out that she wrote the novella Nine Goblins, which I discovered. I liked that one enough to keep going and read the first story of Toad Words and Other Stories, Toad Words, right away. I thought I would put my reviews of all her stories I read this week in the same post, or it will become a bit messy – I think.

When I started reading this story I thought I had tons of time, it was only 21.30 after all. Little did I know that this was a massive novella of a story rather than a short story. I only finished reading late last night, which was far from the plan.
