Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (March 27, 1886 – August 17, 1969) was a German-American architect. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, along with Walter Gropius and Le Corbusier, is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture. Mies, like many of his post World War I contemporaries, sought to establish a new architectural style that could represent modern times just as Classical and Gothic did for their own eras. He created an influential 20th century architectural style, stated with extreme clarity and simplicity.

The Farnsworth House (1950) is one of the most significant of Mies van der Rohe’s works. Its significance is two-fold. First, as one of a long series of house projects, the Farnsworth House embodies a certain aesthetic culmination in Mies van der Rohe’s experiment with this building type. Second, the house is perhaps the fullest expression of modernist ideals that had begun in Europe, but which were consummated in Plano, Illinois.

The house is not a copy of the Farnsworth house, but inspired by that and another house by the architect.

I build this house a while ago, but never had a chance to decorate it. I moved in an artist. He is quite a charmer and is very popular with the ladies in the area. He also have a downtown studio so he don’t ruin his beautiful house with stains.

Hi There. Beautiful home. Might I ask where the Ikea inspired wall/bookshelf comes from? And also, the sleek Easel? I searched MTS2 for them but couldn’t find anything.

Hope you don’t mind me asking.

  • eh I don’t have my game installed right now, so I think You will have more luck asking on one of the forums who has a wcif section. I am pretty sure the bookcase isn’t from mts2, but where it is from is a really good question – it might be form tsr – there are two creators who make maxis match there. I think the easel is from foreversimsfantasy2 but I am not sure. Sorry I could not be of more help
