American Pancakes

These are really good, and easy to make!

This is based on an American recipe, but I got tired of having to convert everything from cups, so here is the European friendly recipe.


I use an old (clean) ketchup bottle to make my pancakes with – it works like a dream.



American Pancakes

Easy american pancakes.

  • 355 milliliters wheat flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 330 milliliters milk
  • 1 egg
  • 50 grams butter, melted


  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat.
  3. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
